Older women , younger men - The Cougars

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

In Taxonomy, a Cougar refers to largest of the small cats. It is placed in the subfamily Felidae under the mammal category. They are generally slender and agile cats and are successful predators.

Today, a Cougar also has come to mean an older woman, usually in her 40s, 50s or 60s who usually sexually pursue men in their 20s and 30s.

Remember Dustin Hoffman in “The Graduate”?That was way back in 1967 and it wasn’t the first in the series anyway.

Fast forward to 2005, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. Cameron Diaz tried it, but gave up on Justin Tinkerbell…oops! I mean Timberlake.

Now, the latest in the news is Linda Hogan. Yes, Hulk Hogan’s wife.

What? Hulk Hogan?

The Immortal One, the Hulk Machine and the epitome of wrestling.

And guess what? Linda is dating a 19 year old. Hhhmmmmm…..

(But hey! Hulk Hogan got himself a blondie who looks younger than his daughter…..)

According to a recent AARP poll, one-sixth of women in their 50s, in fact, prefer men in their 40s.

So why are older women going after younger guys? Here are 5 reasons why.

1.     Some women need to feel young(er).

Being around a younger guy makes a woman feel so much younger. The younger man seems to have no limit for having fun… and it’s fun with a capital ‘F’.

2.     Younger men are more sensitive.

Younger guys really listen and show that they care. The older one, I suppose have heard all the musings many times over, so they hear but don’t really listen.

3.     For the experience.

Younger guys will try hard to make you feel good. .. and they never seem to get tired.

4.     Adventurous

Ever wanted to enjoy an adventurous ride? Well, trust the young guy for that. He has not been beaten by the woes of life, so his perspective of fun and adventure is worth the ride.

5.     Status Symbol

Enough stories of Sugar Daddies and arm Candies. Having a younger guy by your side is a status symbol now. It’s like letting everyone know that you are still hot.

Last but not least, well…… it could be luurvee.

How to REALLY impress a Lady…

Monday, July 21st, 2008

From Mel Gibson’s Braveheart.

William Wallace: Oui. Parce que chaque jour j’ai pensé à toi.

[Yes. Because every single day I've thought about you]

Murron: [hesitates, impressed despite herself, then smiles]

Do that standing on your head and I’ll be impressed.

William Wallace: Well, my kilt will fly up, but I’ll try.

                           —————————

If you haven’t been there, done that ….. here are some tips on the do’s and don’ts.

5 things you should NOT do:

1. Grab the menu from her in your attempt to be ’sweet’ and insist on ordering for the both of you. You wouldn’t want your date to end up doing a salsa or rumba caused by a food allergy.

2. Mention how good your ex-girlfriend was… or worse still ‘is’. Even if you are trying to make conversation, leave out the ex.

3. Taste, touch or smell your date’s food when it arrives. Even if you are trying to be protective - to ensure its pesticide free.

4. Let your hands wander. On the first date - your hands belong on YOUR lap.

5. Try to be a ‘Modern Man’ and not offer to ‘walk her home’. Chivalry, though largely ignored today (thanks to women’s right activists), is not dead.

5 things you should do:

1. Be funny but not crude. Don’t try to be smart and joke on sensitive issues. You might hit a raw nerve.

2. Be descriptive about your feelings towards her - Think ” Richard Marx, Bryan Adams”. If you enjoy her company, say it in style.

3. Make an effort to smell good – it time to invest in a good perfume.

4. Talk less, listen more. A good listener makes a good partner.

5. Respect her opinions. Respect her space. Most of all – respect her, the person.
